Lagos Redirect Pen Cinema Traffic for 1 Week

The Lagos State Government has announced on its twitter handle that there will be road closure of a major and highly densely populated area of the state; Pen Cinema axis in Agege.

The reason for this is due to the ongoing construction work on the Fly-Over Bridge in the area. The road closure will begin from 11am on Wednesday, 17 of June to 11:59pm on Thursday, 25th June 2020.


The commissioner of transportation in the state, Dr. Oladeinde assured that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be deployed to the diversion points to manage movement, ensure the free flow of traffic and enforce strict compliance to the directives issued.

Dr. Oladeinde appealed to the residents of the Pen Cinema axis part of the state to bear with the government as it works tirelessly to build an efficient multi-modal transportation system for the benefit of all Lagosians.


Breakdown of the diversion:

There will be a road diversion from 11am on Wednesday 17th June 2020 to Thursday 25th June 2020.

  1. Motorist coming from Fagba end of Iju Road will be diverted through Ifako General Hospital Road or Oyemekun Road to connect College Road inward Ogba.
  2. Motorist coming from Odejobi Road going to Mosalasi Alhaja will make a detour to link Ijaiye Housing Estate access inward Oba Ogunji Road.
  3. Iju bound motorists coming from Mosalasi Alhaja will be diverted through Ilaye road inward Ogba or Ogba Ogunji Road.

Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be on ground to direct traffic and show alternatives routes, members of the public are implored to drive cautiously as they approach Agege Pen Cinema as the road diversion is set to commence immediately.
