International flight from Nigeria which has been initially slated to resume operations tomorrow, August 29, 2020 has now being postponed till September 5, 2020.
Oga CEO confirms this from the official twitter handle of the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Aviation in a tweet shared at 5:49pm on the 27th of August, 2020.
In the tweet, it reads that; “Breaking: Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020. #PTF on COVID-19. #AviationNG”

From tweet, it can be observed that the Presidential Taskforce on the new coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) wants everything to be in its rightful order before rescinding on its earlier decision on international flights in and out of the country barely 48 hours to the time.
In a swift reaction, Nigerians took to the handle and replied with mixed reactions. One user of the app said; “Everyone saw this coming. I’ve kept refreshing websites for three airlines for days now. None of them had flights from Lagos scheduled for 29th. It was inevitable this was going to happen. Where is the portal we were promised for registration? Till date that isn’t ready.”
He went further and said, “People need to plan. People are frustrated and depressed. People are losing money, people are not making money. It is a difficult time for everyone….”
Another user claims; “Nigerians in UAE has been given on or before 10th of September to evacuate the country due to the closure of our airport and no more visa renewal likewise employment visa… we just kill ourselves.”
Oga CEO cannot confirm the authenticity of the latter statement but one thing is sure definitely. Our international flight air space will not be opened for movement not until the 5th of September
