Govt. to Resolve Nigeria/Ghana Trade Rift

The Federal Government will explore all diplomatic options in resolving the ongoing Nigeria/Ghana trade rift between Nigerian traders in Ghana and the Government of Ghana. The Honourable Minster of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo, CON, made this known while answering questions from journalists after the newly elected Executives members of the Commerce and Industry Correspondence Association of Nigeria (CICAN) in his office in Abuja.

The Minister said, “consultation is going on at the diplomatic level between the two countries (Nigeria/Ghana) to ensure that the matter be resolved amicably.”

The two West Africa countries, Nigeria/Ghana, have so far enjoyed immense bilateral relationship on the continent. The countries share proximity with each other and also the free flow of goods and services between the two (2) nation giants, Nigeria/Ghana has given a significant boost to each individual respective economy.

Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo appreciated the members of the Commerce and Industry Correspondence Association of Nigeria (CICAN) for the good coverage of the Ministry’s activities since his assumption in office as a Minster of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He says he cherishes the cordial relationship that exists between him and the 4th estate of the realm and CICAN members in particular.

He further called for closer collaboration between the Ministry and CICAN and assured members of the Ministry’s continuous support.

Adebayo also used the occasion to inform them that the Ministry will soon come up with various programmes and solicits for their support, cooperation in giving the events adequate publicity.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Frederick Idehai commended the Honourable Minister and solicited for support from various agencies under the Ministry, he however assured the Minister of Commerce and Industry Correspondence Association of Nigeria, CICAN’s coverage of the Ministry’s activities.
