EFCC Arrests 57 Yahoo Boys in Ogun State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 57 internet fraud suspects, popularly known as “yahoo boys”, recovers two (2), pump action rifles in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The operation was carried out by the Ibadan Zonal Office of the commission on Friday, March 12, 2021 at various hotel hideouts and recovered weapons from the so-called yahoo boys.

The suspects were arrested in Yewa Frontier Hotel & Resort, Ellysam Hotels & Suits, April Suits and IBD International Hotels, all located in Ilaro, Ogun State.

The operation followed actionable intelligence, linking them to alleged fraudulent activities, ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretenses and other cyber-crimes.

Four exotic cars, mobile phones, laptops, two rifles and several incriminating documents were recovered from the yahoo boys.

The suspects names include: Olatunji Opeyemi, Akintunde Michael Oluwashola, Babatunde Gbolahan, Emmanuel Oluwadamilare, Ogundare Adewunmi, Popoola Salmon, Adebayo Toheed Olamilekan, Bakare Kudus, Michael Moyosoro, Olatunji Tosin, Ishola Wasiu, Ugwu Ekenedelichukwu David, Salaudeen Roqueb, Obafunmilayo David, Jimoh Fatai Abiodun, Idowu Adeola, Oladipupo Nuruden, Olasoju Mohammed, Onipede Toheeb, Bello Abdullahi, Olatunji Abiola, Ogunbayo Peter, Adeyemi Abraham Ismail, Toheed Oluwaseun, and Abiola Mutiu.

They all will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
